Thank you for your interest in the online Ph.D. in Nursing Science program at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing. The mission of our Ph.D. in Nursing Science program is to develop the next generation of scientists and scholars who will create new, and advance existing, nursing knowledge through research.

In accordance with this mission, we are proud to offer students the opportunity to study with highly qualified faculty who not only teach, but also conduct research and are role models of professional researchers and scholars in nursing science.

Our faculty has carefully crafted a robust program that is designed to prepare you for a successful career as a researcher and scholar in nursing science. Please take time to review the Ph.D. Program.

For our Ph.D. program, we seek students with a demonstrated capacity for academic excellence and the ability to ask innovative and important questions that will advance the science and scholarship of nursing. New students only begin once a year in the fall semester. An on-campus orientation learning intensive is held in August for all incoming students. Students are required to attend three additional on-campus learning intensives over the course of the program.

I would be delighted to discuss the Ph.D. program with you as well as your future professional goals. As you consider this important educational and career decision, please do not hesitate to contact me for further information.
