Transforming Nurse Education Through Research and Innovation

Picture the future. For you, that’s a career guiding and enhancing patient care through advanced skills, technology and research. For the nursing profession as a whole, research sparks developments that refine healthcare delivery and treatments.

As the country’s second-oldest nursing school, the Medical University of South Carolina’s College of Nursing evolves with the profession. Looking ahead to adapt how we train the next generation of RNs, nurse practitioners, researchers and leaders, we consider our students’ greater impact, both through the care they’ll provide and how their skills close the existing healthcare gap. Today, that progress materializes as results-driven online learning, faculty-led palliative care training across all programs, engaging clinical opportunities and collaborative research with other MUSC colleges.

Our dedication to discovery results in a 99% NCLEX pass rate and partnerships with area hospitals and health agencies that take learning beyond the classroom to benefit South Carolina’s communities. No matter your career stage, see how you can foster the future of the nursing profession and join the next generation of nurse leaders.

NURSING RESEARCH

The College of Nursing’s research attests to MUSC’s collaborative environment and the progress-leading resources available at the state’s only integrated academic health sciences center. With the goal of pioneering change, shaping treatments and uncovering what’s possible in the field of nursing, we’ve allocated $5.6 million in funding toward research—making us competitive among U.S. nursing schools for NIH funding.
