Early Admission Decision

Programs with Priority Admission

The Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing Accelerated BSN Program offers academically superior students the opportunity to apply for priority admission and receive an early decision.

Qualifications

To qualify for priority admission, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Overall GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Prerequisite GP of 3.8 or higher
  • Completed three out of the four required science courses: Human Anatomy (4sh), Physiology (4sh), Microbiology (4sh), and a science elective (4sh)
  • Submit a completed application through NursingCas including essay, references, and all post high-school education official transcripts.
  • Submit a supplemental university application through MUSC's Office of Enrollment Management

Deadline

Priority Admission for Fall – November 15
Priority Admission for Spring – August 15

Applicants will be informed of the Admission, Progression, and Graduation (APG) Committee’s decision approximately one month after each deadline.  

Students who are not accepted, or do not qualify for priority admission, will be considered for regular admission at the appropriate time.

Military Early Decision

The Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing Accelerated BSN Program offers active-duty military the opportunity to apply for early decisions. Active-duty military who apply within the admission cycle will receive an admission decision within two weeks of submitting a complete application.

Qualifications

To qualify for early decision as an active duty member of the military, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Proof of active duty military status
  • Completed three out of the four required science courses Human Anatomy (4sh), Physiology (4sh), Microbiology (4sh), and a science elective (4sh)
  • Submit a completed application through NursingCas including essay, references, and all post high-school education official transcripts
  • Submit a supplemental university application through MUSC's Office of Enrollment Management
