Why did you decide to become a promotor/a and why do you think it’s an important job?

Translated:  I decided to be a Promotora because I know how hard it is to adapt to a new country.  When I came to this country it was very difficult because of the language, the customs, and because I felt like I was a fish out of water in a great nation. I spent time learning the language and customs, and tried to help people with what little I knew.  I always imagined myself working a job where I could help my community. PASOs gave me this great opportunity to realize my dream.
